The LocationNestled between the legendary Mr. Pickwicks and the un-urban Yaletown Sofa, Teresa’s Cafe offered the Ghettobreakfastclub.com crew quite a surprise.

Unlike Roscoe’s, Teresa’s Cafe served up tasty breakfast treats at incredible prices (most items were under $5).

I started my day with Charlie (no not this) but rather the one from the giant menu which listed the various breakfast specials. The specials were all named using what looked like miltaryesque code words. However, I like to think that Teresa hand picked their names.

Patio @ Teresa\'s Cafe

Ghettobreakfastclub.com members were spread throughout the restaurant and on my table they ordered the following:

  • Charlie over-medium
  • Grilled Cheese
  • Cornbeef Hash
  • Big breafkast (eggs any style, four pieces of bacon or sausage, four pieces of toast, two eggs, and hasbrowns (or fruit!!))

Our coffees were pretty good and we never had an empty cup; the Charlie was delicious; the grilled cheese prepared perfectly; the cornbeef hash looked tasty; however the poached eggs looked mediocre (although there were no complaints from the ghettobreakfastclub member). The only complaint we could find was the lack of ambiance. We didn’t have time to rate the bathroom so if anyone checked it out, please post a comment.

All in all, our table left the cafe with belly’s full and big grins on our faces having eaten at one of Vancouvers hidden breakfast gems.

I’d have to disagree with your commentary. Our breakfasts took 40 minutes to arrive (mine was cold) and my coffee cup was indeed empty several times. Perhaps it was because we were on the “patio” but I’d have to say the service was poor (albeit friendly). Furthermore, I felt that the naming scheme of the breakfasts was sexist, given they were all boy names. I would only give Teresa’s 2.5 toasts out of 5.

wowza’s… I didn’t realize that those on the outside had quite the opposite experience. I hope you reflected this outcome in the iTRS.

To be fair though, Charlie is a unisex name - she was the name of the hottie in “High Fidelity” :D

sorry to hear the patio people didn’t enjoy their breakie experience as much as the insiders. hopefully we can sit together next time!

also, i thought the naming scheme was cute, not sexist. perhaps the fact that the cafe is named after a female balances things out a bit? :)
